Transformation Kenya

The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) had a vision to promote and create 21st century student centered learning environments in Kenyan schools which would allow every learner in Kenya to access quality, relevant, personalized and adaptive learning anytime and anywhere. KICD has over the last 10 years invested in digital content to support curriculum delivery through the use of Technology and the Government of Kenya embarked on a Digital Literacy Project (DLP) that has seen the deployment of 2 million student and teacher computers in Kenyan schools.

The last piece of the puzzle was a robust nationwide learning management system that KICD dubbed the Kenya Education Cloud (KEC). To develop this final piece of the puzzle, KICD turned to Grow Mobile Technology to design, develop and implement a cloud-based content distribution platform as well as secure client applications for Windows and Android to enable learners access content whether they were online or offline.

The Kenya Education Cloud is the official eLearning portal for all K-12 public schools and serves millions of students each day.
